Not a day goes by without someone asking me how the real estate market is.  Of course with my extraordinary experience and wisdom, I answer "It's great". And what does that really mean?

It means the market is always great for someone.  There are two sides, one for sellers and one for buyers.  And on occasion it's ideal for both, but generally the market favors one side or the other all the time.  It's important to remember real estate is constantly on the move. (No pun intended)  It flutters back and forth as a flag in the wind.

Conditions such as interest rates, job security, financial conditions, weather, season of the year, and of course the news media...affect our attitude and motivation.

Determining asking prices, sale values, and what the future will bring is a combination of science and art. The more knowledge and references available, the better the guess is.
